Myki For MSPs integrates with Autotask PSA in order to import companies and users into Myki for MSPs. This simplifies the process of onboarding your MSP and your customers into Myki.
In order to connect Myki to Autotask PSA, you will need valid Autotask PSA credentials and an API Tracking Identifier.
Generating an Autotask PSA API Tracking Identifier
To generate an API Tracking Identifier, you will first need to set the right user permissions:
Navigate to the Autotask PSA portal, click the Autotask icon in the upper right-hand corner to open the drop-down menu. Click Admin, then select Resources (Users).
You need to make sure that the Autotask user conducting the integration has the correct security permission in Autotask PSA to access the webservices API.
To edit the permissions of a current resource, simply right-click on that user, navigate to the Security section and select API User in the Security Level drop-down list
If you wish to create a new user resource with the proper permissions:
- Click the New button in the upper left-hand corner of Resources page. Fill out the user's general details, then click Save.
- Click the Security tab at the top of the screen.
- Fill out the username and password fields and make sure the Active box is checked, then assign a security level of API User from the drop-down menu.
- When finished, click Save & Close.
You are now set up to generate an API tracking identifier. Simply go to the bottom right of the user Security tab, select Integration Vendor, and choose Myki - Password Management from the drop-down list. Press Generate and copy the API Tracking Identifier.
Configuring the integration in the Myki Portal
After generating an API Tracking Identifier proceed by filling the authentication information in the Integrations section of the Myki For MSPs portal.
You will also need valid credentials (username and password) that you use in order to authenticate to Autotask PSA.
After filling the authentication information click on "Connect", this will attempt to establish a connection between Myki and Autotask PSA.
Now that you are properly connected to Autotask PSA, you can map your existing Myki companies with your Autotask PSA companies in order to simplify importing users. You can also import your Autotask PSA companies straight into Myki.
Mapping existing Myki companies to Autotask PSA companies
You can map your existing Myki companies with Autotask PSA companies by matching the items in the mapping table.
This ensures that when you or one of your companies are within a managed company account, the integration will only allow imports from the matched company. (i.e. Myki company A cannot import items of Autotask PSA company B by mistake).
Importing Autotask PSA Companies into Myki
You can import Autotask PSA companies into Myki by either clicking on the import button in the Integrations section or by clicking the Import Companies button in the Managed Companies section.
Myki companies require a name and a web address for uniqueness and appropriate metadata. After importing companies you will be asked to manually add any missing company domain.
Importing Autotask PSA users into Myki
You can import MSP users as well as end-users into Myki from Autotask PSA. In order to do that you need to start by mapping your Myki companies with Autotask PSA companies. You can do that in the Integrations sections.
In order to import MSP users into your MSP portal from Autotask PSA, go to the MSP Users section your Myki For MSPs portal, click on Import Users and select Autotask PSA from the list of available integrations then follow the wizard to get your users into Myki For MSPs.
Importing Customers into Myki from Autotask PSA
To import your customers into Myki Managed companies, start by making sure that you have created or imported your client's company then access that company in the Myki For MSPs portal by either selecting the company in the company navigation tab in the top right part of your MSP portal or by clicking on Manage next to the company in the Managed Companies section.
When you are in the managed company portal visit the Users tab then click on Import Users. Select Autotask PSA from the list and follow the steps in order to invite your customers to join Myki.
