Before starting the backup process, make sure that the Myki app is paired to the Myki browser extension. Here's a guide on how to do so.
Start by clicking on the green owl on the top right corner of your browser to open the Myki browser extension.
Navigate to the "Advanced" tab in the left menu and click on "Backup Accounts".
After clicking on "Backup Accounts", you will be prompted to scan a QR code.
You will receive a notification on your smartphone from Myki to scan the QR code. Open Myki and scan the QR code to start the backup process.
In the event you don't receive the notification from Myki, open the Myki app on your smartphone and tap on the "Profile" tab in the bottom menu, then tap on "Backup Items".
From there, tap on "Backup To Computer" which will open the camera and allow you to scan the QR code that appeared in the extension.
You'll find that a file with a ".myki" extension is downloaded to your "Downloads" folder. It is an encrypted backup of all the accounts currently stored on your Myki app.
In case you lose, break or change your phone, you can easily use this backup file to restore your accounts on your new device.
